Why does SERVPRO drill holes?
After a water loss there will be water behind the baseboards, soaked up in the carpet and pad, and maybe in the subfloor. Depending on how long it sits will depend on how invasive SERVPRO of Olathe / Lenexa technicians will have to be.
Drilling Holes to Move Air Flow
Behind the baseboards and drywall is where we find mold the most. It's because the baseboards don't allow for the water to evaporate fast enough. We remove the baseboards and drill a small hole in between each set of studs along the wall to move airflow behind. Doing this will make sure there will be no mold growth during the drying portion of mitigation.
